If you are buying a plot or lot of land, you should obtain a topographical plan for the land registry. This is a graphic drawing of the plot of land which must be checked and approved by the Land Registry.
Once approval has been given, you should continue with the steps listed under "Buying real estate property".]]>
The same administrative process is followed for buying real estate property in urban and rural areas. However, the physical location of the real estate does make a difference as it is divided into registered and non-registered zones. If the real estate property be located in a non-registered zone, it should be registered at the corresponding municipal land registry.]]>
All foreigners, whatever their nationality or reason for being in the country, should request temporary or permanent residency. If your stay is for work purposes, the authorities at Migración and Extranjería give a type 1 residency card.]]>
